Project Overview:

Since its initial development in 2002, the microwave drawer has been the premier built-in cooking product in the Sharp lineup. Consumers have been able to install it in their cabinets and free up space on their countertops. 

A new look was needed to better pair with kitchen appliances made by high end manufacturers. Additionally, OEM kitchen appliances can be flush mounted which the previous versions of the Sharp drawer was not able to do. The flush mounting was resolved with the development of this unit.

My Contribution:

I was the lead designer on this project while I was working for Sharp. I worked on the industrial design, conceptual development, final CAD surfaces, and solving any manufacturing issues with Sharp engineers.
